Telhio Credit Union

A Case Study

A leading lender in Ohio since 1934, Telhio Credit Union takes pride in serving anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Central and Southwest Ohio. The financial institution is known for serving its members and the community, guided by its three core values: caring, commitment, and integrity. So, when Telhio needed to find a way to communicate with and serve its limited English proficient (LEP) members, the credit union’s leadership turned to Accessible Translation Solutions.

After meeting with the Telhio team, Madalena and her staff proposed several options to fit the credit union’s needs. First, we called on our translators specializing in finance and banking to translate brochures about the different account options for checking and savings. We also assisted Telhio in creating a radio ad with a Spanish voiceover talent to advertise the benefits of being a Telhio Credit Union member and the auto and home loans available to members. And perhaps most significantly, we set up over-the-phone interpreting accounts for all of Telhio’s branches and customer service centers so credit union members can ask questions and get information about any of their accounts and transactions in real-time.
